Ealing Conservatives have taken a stand for local residents and businesses, Ealing Broadway Councillor, Seema Kumar, presented a petition signed by 951 residents opposing Labour-run Ealing Council’s out-of-touch plan to force residents to register with an app just to use Stop and Shop parking bays.
Cllr Kumar grilled Labour’s cabinet member on the £90,000 being wasted to change signage across the borough. Embarrassingly, the Labour cabinet member couldn’t even explain how much extra revenue the council expects to generate from this expensive and unnecessary overhaul.
Cllr Kumar said “Labour is putting up digital barriers that will punish residents and drive footfall away from our already struggling high streets.”
Ealing Conservatives are calling on the council to drop this flawed proposal and listen to the people they are supposed to represent, not force them to jump through hoops just to support local shops.
