Thank you to the almost 2,000 residents who responded to our LTN survey. A massive 95% of respondents living in the LTNs want to see the LTN schemes removed.
Despite 10,000 people signing a petition, 3,000 people marching on the Town Hall, and our attempt last month to get Ealing Council to suspend the LTNs and properly consult local people, Ealing’s Labour Council continues to ignore local opposition to these roadblocks and in fact unanimously voted to keep the LTNs.
94% of people surveyed believe that Ealing Council should have consulted prior to implementing the schemes, with people’s (very limited) favourability towards the schemes dropping by 35% once they were introduced. (an average support score of 2.3/10 prior to the schemes introduction dropping to 1.5/10 once they were implemented).
Not only have we seen emergency services struggling to gain access through the maze of LTNs, but 93% of residents responding believe it has led to an increase in congestion and pollution on main roads bordering the LTN zones.
We will continue to work with the community to press your Labour Councillors to reconsider their support for the scheme and suspend these disastrous roadblocks.
