We the undersigned strongly oppose the council’s plan to change Stop and Shop parking. Making people use the Pay by Phone app, even for 30 minutes of free parking, is unfair to those who cannot easily use smartphones. This includes many older or vulnerable residents. It risks cutting them off from their local high streets.
Local shops are already under pressure from rising costs. The last thing they need is a new system that puts off customers. We urge the council to drop these plans and keep Stop and Shop parking simple, free and open to all.
